Notes:  (1) Army field rank insignia for camouflaged uniforms is black.  Army enlisted rank chevrons are in branch colors. Constabulary enlisted rank chevrons are magenta with a narrow yellow edge stitching.

(2) Air Force officer rank stripes are bordered with a narrow dark blue edging.  Enlisted rank chevrons are light blue with a narrow dark blue edge stitching.

(3) Navy and Coast Guard officer rank stripes are gold.  Enlisted rank chevrons are gold for Chief Petty Officers and in branch colors for all others (white on blue uniforms and blue on white and camouflage uniforms for deck ratings, red for engineering ratings, green for medical ratings, and yellow for administrative and supply ratings).

(4) Public Health Commissioned Corps rank stripes are silver.

(5) Marine Corps officer rank stripes are gold.  Enlisted rank chevrons are red with a narrow yellow edge stitching.  All insignia for camouflaged uniforms is dark blue.

(6) Police chevrons are medium blue with a narrow yellow edge stitching.  Fire service chevrons are red with a narrow black edge stitching.  Emergency Medical Services chevrons are orange with a narrow blue edge stitching.

(7) Licensed merchant mariners rank stripes are yellow nylon braid. 

(8) Licensed aviators wear rank stripes of either yellow or white nylon braid, as determined by the airline.
