REPUBLIC OF PERILO MILITIA
The Militia supplements the armed forces of the nation and provides Provincial Governors the capability to mobilize the citizenry within their provinces in extreme emergencies. All citizens of the Republic of the age of 16 or greater are members of the Militia, subject to call by Provincial Governors or by the President of the Republic in times of emergency, including military threats to the nation, civil disturbance, and major disasters. The Militia is commanded by a retired military or militia officer of the rank of Colonel or above, holding a temporary appointment as a Brigadier of Militia, who is responsible for their organization and training. Annual training for Militia members is conducted at a one day annual muster, held at the Company level. In addition, selected Militia Officers participate in the annual Vigilant Leader command post exercise. In peacetime the Militia is unarmed, and only Militia officers are required to own the basic Army field combat uniform. The Militia is divided into three components:
LEVEE MILITIA: All citizens of appropriate age may be called to perform military duties in a ground combat or police role.
The Levee Militia will serve under the tactical control of the nearest military unit (wartime) or the civil authorities of their jurisdiction (civil disturbance or disaster).
The Levee Militia is organized as five provincial regiments (including the National Capital region), each commanded by a Colonel. Districts and Class I and Class II Cities within Provinces are designated as Battalion areas. Towns, villages, and townships are designated as Company areas.
Militia officers at the company level are elected by the personnel of the Company at the annual militia muster from among those citizens who have completed the Militia officer's course. Company Commanders elect the Battalion Commander (subject to approval by the Regimental Commander), and Battalion Commanders the Regimental Commander (subject to approval by the Brigadier of Militia).
AIR MILITIA: Individuals who own aircraft, hold licenses as pilots or flight crew members, or own or operate aviation support facilities may be called to Active Duty to perform aviation missions with their aircraft or facilities. Individuals eligible to serve as members of the Air Militia who wish to participate in regular activities are enrolled with their aircraft as members of the Air Search and Rescue Auxiliary. In those communities where there is sufficient participation (defined as 5 or more pilots with aircraft with 5 or more individuals willing to serve as observers), an Air Militia Flight may be organized on the authorization of the Air Force. Air Militia Flights are commanded by a Flying Officer, with pilots appointed as Pilot Officers and Observers as Sergeants, upon completion of required training. Individuals serving as members of the Air Militia are under the tactical control of the military unit to which they are attached when called to active duty.

Owners of enrolled vessels and licensed mariners are appointed in the rank of Master (equivalent to Lieutenant 3rd Rank), with regular crew members serving as Able Bodied Seamen, upon completion of required training.
