REPUBLIC OF PERILO MINISTRY OF FINANCE

The Ministry of Finance is responsible for the collection and disbursement of the revenues of the Republic in accordance with the Code of Perilo and in keeping with the public good.

DEPARTMENTS: The Departments of the Ministry of Finance are:

Revenue - the Department of Revenue administers the various taxes levied against residents and businesses (including both direct and indirect taxes), including the publishing of tax materials, the setting of schedules for tax payments, the processing of tax submissions, and the assessment of administrative penalties.
Budget - the Department of the Budget prepares the annual budget of the Republic, monitors expenditures, and reallocates funds using approved procedures as required.
Treasurer - the Treasurer of the Republic issues and controls the supply of money through the National Central Bank, issues bonds and other instruments of debt, invests funds as directed by law, and makes appropriate expenditures of public monies to meet the obligations of the Republic.
Customs Service - the Customs Service inspects all goods and property entering the Republic to properly assess duties as established by law and to protect the borders and citizens of the Republic by intercepting and seizing contraband and smuggled goods.
Auditor of Public Accounts - the Auditor of Public Accounts performs audit functions for all government agencies to assure good management and the proper expenditure of the funds of the Republic.
Corps of Financial Guards - the 100 member Corps of Financial Guards provides security to the government's financial facilities and armed escort for high value shipments of government funds and property. In wartime the Corps of Financial Guards supplements the ground forces assigned to defend the National Capital Region.
Republic of Perilo Coast Guard - the Coast Guard enforces maritime laws and suppresses smuggling, maintains aids to navigation, controls vessel traffic, performs search and rescue, and promotes maritime safety.
