REPUBLIC OF PERILO MINISTRY OF EDUCATION

The educational system of Perilo is a three tiered system.  Students enter school at the age of 5 to 6 in the First Form Lower School, and progress three six forms.  On the completion of Lower School, students sit for the P (Preliminary) Level nationally standardized examination of educational competency.  Those students who demonstrate aptitude for academic subjects, and who pass the P Level examination, may then enter the First Form Upper School.  Students who do not demonstrate aptitude for further academic study enter apprenticeship programs conducted by the General Council of Trades or by individual universities (for specialized trades or national significance) for 1 to 3 years of training to become apprentices in a trade.

Students who complete the six forms of Upper School sit for the A (Advanced) Level nationally standardized examination in up to six subjects.  Students who earn A Level passing scores in at least three subjects are guaranteed acceptance in a Baccalaureate Degree program at one of the Republic's Universities.  Students who do earn at least one A Level pass may enter a two year Associate's Degree program at a Provincial College.  Students who do not earn an A Level pass may either enter an apprenticeship program or a technical training program.
