REPUBLIC OF PERILO MINISTRY OF DEFENSE

The Ministry of Defense protects the nation from attack by hostile forces and assists other government ministries in the achievement of their missions as appropriate.  There are six armed forces of the Republic, five of which are administered by the Ministry of Defense (the Coast Guard is a department of the Ministry of Finance):

AIR FORCE - The Air Force maintain the sovereignty of the airspace of the Republic, conducts air combat operations in support of national objectives, and assists other departments of the government in the achievement of their missions as appropriate.

ARMY - The Army of the Republic of Perilo conducts ground combat to protect the nation and to achieve national objectives.  In addition, the Army responds to disasters which threaten the nation and its citizens, and conducts national development projects related to its military mission. 

NAVY - The Navy maintains the sovereignty of the territorial waters of the Republic and conducts security and maritime combat operations to achieve national objectives.

MARINE CORPS - The Republic of Perilo Marine Corps provides marine infantry forces for deployment aboard ships of the Perilan Navy, for use as landing troops for amphibious assault, and for the security of naval installations.

MILITIA - The Militia supplements the armed forces of the nation and provides Provincial Governors the capability to mobilize the citizenry within their provinces in extreme emergencies.
