REPUBLIC OF PERILO CONSTABULARY
The Perilo Constabulary is the national police force of the Republic, organized as a military force. One Squadron (400 officers and troopers each) is assigned to each Province, and is subdivided on the triangular model into 3 Troops (125 officers and troopers each), each of 3 Platoons (40 officers and troopers each). The 1st and 4th Squadrons operate as a Northern Command, with the senior squadron commander serving as area commander, and the 2nd and 3rd Squadrons operate as a Southern Command in support of the armed forces in wartime. The Constabulary still views itself very much as a component of the armed forces reserve and operates under military discipline.

CONSTABULARY BARRACKS
Constabulary units are quartered in Barracks, constructed in a standard pattern adopted in 1910, and still used in new construction. The barracks are constructed as a four sided rectangular building surrounding a small central Parade Ground. The South Wing of the complex has a tower through which the gated main Sally Port passes - the tower originally served as a lookout station, and is still staffed by one trooper on sentry duty, as much for tradition as operational utility. The south wing includes the armory, the administrative offices, and the communications center. Officer and senior noncommissioned officer quarters and the Platoon commander's office are located in the West Wing and enlisted trooper barracks are located in the East Wing. The North Wing originally housed stables, but has been converted as a garage (with doors opening to the outside). The exterior walls are either solid brick or quarried stone (in the 4th Squadron area), and have gun slits at regular intervals. Unmarried Constabulary personnel still generally live in the Barracks, and the duty Squads are normally quartered in the Barracks during their shifts.
OPERATIONS
The Constabulary performs highway patrol duties on the roadways of the Republic and supports local City and Town Police and Village Marshals in law enforcement, maintenance of order, and criminal investigation. At any time in a Constabulary Platoon one squad is released from duty, one is on Barracks duty as a reserve and to perform normal routine investigative, administrative, and maintenance tasks, and one squad is on highway patrol.
Constabulary troopers patrol with 2 persons to a vehicle - a squad on highway patrol fields 6 patrol vehicles, with the vehicles used depending on the patrol area.
Constabulary units located on rivers and lakes and at Overwash are provided 1 trailerable 7 meter Ribrcraft rigid hull inflatable boat (Overwash is assigned 2 boats) for water operations. These units include:
1st Squadron - A Troop (2nd and 3rd Platoons), B Troop (1st and 2nd Platoons), C Troop (1st Platoon)
2nd Squadron - B Troop (1st, 2nd, 3rd Platoons), C Troop (1st, 2nd, 3rd Platoons)
3rd Squadron - A Troop (1st, 2nd, 3rd Platoons), C Troop (1st, 2nd, 3rd Platoons)
Constabulary communications depend on a low band Very High Frequency radio system. Each Barracks has a radio tower and repeater and repeaters are located on commercial radio station towers, railroad communications towers, aeronautical lighted beacon towers, and on military installations. Coverage is approximately 80 percent of the road network in the piedmont and coastal plain areas, approximately 20 percent in the Northern Massif and 40 percent in the Great Waste.
