The Territorial Army provides a trained and organized reserve force to supplement the forces of the Army. Territorial Army units are based in local armories, constructed on a standard pattern with offices, classrooms, armory, and storage areas on either side of a central drill floor, and with fenced parking area behind the building for unit vehicles and heavy equipment. Most units are at approximately half-strength, with officer and non-commissioned officer billets filled, but shortages in junior enlisted ranks. Territorial Army soldiers drill twice a month on either weekday evenings or weekends for at least 3 hours, and participate in two annual training camps - the Winter Camp is two days in length, and the Summer Camp is one week in length. The Territorial Army is organized as two Composite Battalions, the 10th in the Provinces of the Northwest and the North, and the 11th in the Provinces of the East and the Southwest. Territorial Army units retain in a number of cases traditional unit names.
