REPUBLIC OF PERILO, PROVINCE OF THE EAST, RECOGNIZED SETTLEMENT OF CHAMBERSBURG
EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN

1. WHEN IMPLEMENTED: Citizens will follow this emergency operations plan when a significant threat exists to the community.
2. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT: To the greatest degree possible the Settlement Council will coordinate preparation for and response to major emergencies that threaten the community.
3. CITIZEN ACTIONS: Citizens will take the following actions to protect themselves, their property, and the community:
a. Maintain their homes and places of business in good condition, making sure that trash or brush that could pose a fire hazard is cleared, that furniture or other outdoors property debris that could pose a flying debris hazard is stored safety on the approach of severe weather, that ditches are clear, and that shutters, doors, and chimneys are in good condition.
b. Citizens will maintain fire buckets with water and sand readily available on their property and will assist their neighbors in the event of fire.
c. In the event that flooding or other hazards force citizens to leave their homes or businesses, people will travel north on Road 47 to high ground in the case of flooding or to the east or west on Road 1 to the nearest community based on the direction from which the threat is coming.
4. CIVIL DEFENSE OFFICER DUTIES:
a. Warning the citizens of Chambersburg of developing conditions that pose a threat to the community.
b. Assist the Settlement Council in coordinating response to a disaster.
c. Report the impacts of a disaster to the Provincial emergency operations center.
d. Assess the extent of damage following a disaster.
e. Coordinate with the Provincial government for assistance.
